Automotive Interior Designer

Role summary / purpose Our Physical Interaction design team is charged with delivering the company's vision across all divisions, transforming the future of transportation. You'll join an agile team of doers pioneering our future by working collaboratively, staying focused on only what matters and delivering excellence day in and day out. At our Design studios, you'll be at the heart of creating that future — at the cutting edge of our most strategically critical work, designing people and society's needs into the heart of our next generation of vehicles. Key responsibilities • Develop both conceptual and production-based interior solutions in the form of sketches, renderings and 3D digital models • Think creatively, strategically and analytically to create compelling and innovative interior design experiences and visions for design projects • Explore human-centered design experience with emphasis in interior design and holistic experience • Coordinate the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions • Create future brand-focused design visions • Span digital and physical, software and hardware thinking • Problem-solve around topics of connectivity, mobility and consumer segments Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design or similar field of study, or a combination of education and equivalent experience • 1 year of design experience including experience with final design product execution • 1 year of experience translating 2D to 3D and thinking three-dimensionally with a strong emphasis on proportions and a refined sense of form • Design portfolio (PDF) must be provided upon application Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Product design or interior design experience • Understanding of exterior/interior manufacturing process and materials • Passion for automotive and mobility industry, global trends, innovation and customer needs • Experience working in or with creative cultures • Experience working in large corporate environments • Ability to interpret customer needs and global trends into compelling design • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic • Awareness of global automotive and consumer electronics to ensure competitiveness with industry leaders • Demonstrated creative product/interior design perceptions and capability • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners • Exceptional design intuition, strong problem-solving skills and superior ability to visually communicate through sketches and renderings • Familiarity with and interest in design trends within and across design professions and global cultures (automotive, fashion, product, architectural, etc.)…
