Role summary / purpose Provides technical and budget/financial support for energy projects, including reviewing contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications. Responsible for contractor monitoring and oversight of assigned work. Primary responsibility includes route development, refinement, and field visits to verify and support overall pre-construction preparation. Key responsibilities • Develop routing criteria and ensure compliance with cost, engineering, and environmental considerations • Lead coordination between technical teams on routing, siting, and construction projects • Conduct field visits to verify route alignment and support pre-construction preparation • Perform route refinement using value engineering and other applicable concepts to optimize criteria for late-stage activities including permitting • Identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts • Provide oversight for contractor work and monitor project progress • Communicate and discuss risks with various subject matter experts across Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land • Problem-solve within highly regulated permitting requirements Requirements – education & experience • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • 11 - 15 years of experience managing technical aspects of routing, siting, and construction projects Required skills • Excellent communication skills • Experience performing routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty • Ability to identify and evaluate routing risks • Problem-solving skills within highly regulated permitting requirements • Detail-oriented with ability to maintain sight of the larger vision • Functional understanding of key criteria used to develop routing across cost, engineering, and environmental constraints Employment details – type, location, hours Travel within the US is expected approximately 25%.
