About this role

Role summary / purpose The Scheduling Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring the volumetric accuracy of scheduled product movements. This role works closely with Schedulers and Accounting throughout the month and during month end close activities to ensure timely updating of nominations, execution of manual accruals, correction of system or ticketing errors, and other clean-up required to ensure inventory is accurately reflected in our ERP system. Key responsibilities • Monitor and verify the accuracy of all transactions related to product movements in accordance with accounting standards in our ERP system (SAP S4) • Run various reports in our ERP System (SAP S4) to monitor inventory Builds/Draws and analyze data on a routine basis throughout the month • Work closely with managed service providers, scheduling and traders to properly reflect positions and trades in accounting records • Review complicated Discrepancy Error Workbench (DEW) requests from Back Office and Volumetric Accounting that are escalated by the Scheduler and assist with identifying the proper resolution • Serve as a backup reviewer for Discrepancy Error Workbench (DEW) when a scheduler is out of the office • In collaboration with the Trade Support group, assist schedulers with troubleshooting when nominations do not result in the intended inventory effect in SAP and provide resolution • Prepare reports and summaries of reconciliation findings for management review • Track and communicate trends or recurring issues that may impact inventory accuracy and assist in the development of solutions • Identify opportunities for process improvements in scheduling tactics • Assist with direct resolution of discrepancies during high intensity periods such as month end close Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's Degree • 5 or more years of experience in a similar role • Oil and gas industry experience required • Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook) Required skills • Ability to digest large quantities of data, mainly in Excel and SAP • Highly organized • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to review and analyze crude oil inventory transactions and trading business transactions Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Experience running financial and inventory reports in SAP • 2 or more years as a scheduler in the oil and gas industry • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as reading comprehension abilities • Ability to prioritize demands from multiple departments • Self-motivated, effective team player • Customer service mentality and willingness to address internal client needs • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Employment details – type, location, hours Contract Length: 1 year Location: Houston HQ Schedule: 5 days a week onsite during training (usually for a couple of weeks). After training is complete, the contractor is allowed to work 1 day remote per week.
