Role summary / purpose The Database Analyst (also known as Database Administrator or DBA) works on the infrastructure side of the IT organization, focused on installation and support of database management systems while adhering to best practices and delivering high-level customer service. The Database Analyst is a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills who thrives in collaborative environments. Key responsibilities • Support production, staging, and quality assurance databases • Ensure availability, access, and security of data assets • Perform database maintenance, monitoring, security, backup, recovery, performance optimization, and integrity verification • Consult with IT management and stakeholders to identify and recommend opportunities for improved database technologies and infrastructure operations • Provide technical database expertise and leadership to development teams Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, OR 15+ years of related business experience • 10+ years of work experience in addition to a degree Required skills • Experience with SQL or equivalent database platform native programming languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL, Access SQL, Python) • Knowledge of file structures, design, retrieval, and access methods Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Strong analytical and problem-resolution abilities • Strong organizational skills • Ability to analyze business problems and opportunities • Experience facilitating meetings and providing direction to others Equal opportunity statement We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
