Lead Scrum Master/Agilist

Role summary / purpose The Connect-AI team is seeking a Lead Scrum Master / Agilist to support AI-enabled technical product teams across Telecom and Infrastructure. This role will initially support the TINA (AI chatbot) product team and Infrastructure Systems Engineering (Cloud) team, within the Infrastructure and Telecom organization with the potential to support additional teams as Connect-AI grows. The successful candidate will be a hands-on servant leader who can facilitate Agile delivery, coach teams, remove impediments, improve delivery practices, and create transparency across products, teams, and stakeholders. This individual will partner closely with the Delivery Lead, Product Owners, Product Analysts, technical leads, developers, and enterprise partners to help teams deliver measurable customer and business value. Key responsibilities • Agile leadership and facilitation: Own the teams' Agile operating rhythm, including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and cross-team planning. Ensure ceremonies are purposeful, time-boxed, and focused on decisions, delivery, and continuous improvement. • Team coaching and improvement: Coach teams and leaders in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, product thinking, self-management, and value-focused delivery. Help teams establish practical working agreements, Sprint Goals, Definitions of Ready, and Definitions of Done. • Delivery, risk, and dependency management: Proactively identify, document, escalate, and track impediments, risks, and dependencies through resolution, including coordination with cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, data, operations, and other enterprise partners. • Product and delivery partnership: Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, story readiness, estimation, prioritization discussions, and Sprint Goal development while supporting the backlog process without owning product priorities or decisions. • Metrics and transparency: Maintain clear delivery information in Jira, Confluence, and related tools. Use metrics such as cycle time, throughput, aging work, Sprint Goal achievement, carryover, predictability, and impediment trends to guide improvement without comparing or ranking individuals. • Stakeholder and cross-team collaboration: Facilitate communication among technical teams, product leadership, customers, and enterprise stakeholders. Help teams prepare for demonstrations, planning sessions, leadership updates, onboarding, and knowledge transfer. Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or seven years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. • Five or more years of experience with product, project, delivery, or Agile practices. • Three or more years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agilist, Agile Delivery Lead, or Agile Coach. • Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM I, or equivalent certification. • Experience facilitating Agile delivery for technical or software product teams and resolving delivery impediments, risks, and cross-team dependencies. Required skills • Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills. • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
