About this role

Role summary / purpose Installs, changes, and repairs minor problems of personal computer hardware and software systems, and gives technical assistance and training to system users. Answers inquiries concerning systems operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems; and recommends or performs remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation. Requires excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals. Key responsibilities • Install, change, and repair personal computer hardware and software systems • Provide technical assistance and training to system users • Answer inquiries concerning systems operation • Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems • Recommend and perform remedial actions to correct problems • Move IT equipment around facilities and between vehicles and facilities • Travel to multiple operation centers via personal vehicle Requirements – education & experience • 2-year degree preferred • Excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals Employment details – type, location, hours Main location: Columbus Operations Center, Columbus, IN. Worker will support multiple operation centers across the eastern, central, and southern regions of Indiana, including Batesville, Bedford, Bloomington, Clarksville, Connersville, Corydon, Gallagher Station, Greensburg, Salem, Seymour, and Shelbyville. Work environments include field, plant, lab, and office settings. Physical requirements: • May perform physical labor moving IT equipment • Required to lift up to 50 lbs maximum • Required to wear ASTM F2413 safety-rated boots at generation sites • Required to drive personal vehicle to multiple sites; travel outside main operations center is reimbursable based on standard mileage rate • Will drive a large portion of central, eastern, and southern Indiana Application process / how to apply Interested candidates should submit their application through the staffing agency.
