About this role
Role summary / purpose Responsible for coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Acts as a critical bridge between field operations and customer leadership, ensuring construction crews and project stakeholders remain aligned. Key responsibilities • Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on the project • Manage walk downs of planned work and validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements • Approve contractor payment requests and verify constructability • Ensure proper resource allocations and assess field status • Resolve issues as needed and manage scope control • Provide budget oversight, performance reporting, and schedule management • Provide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce • Communicate departmental, station, and division goals • Address logistical challenges and resolve conflicts • Survey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices • Provide coaching, direction, and corrective action as needed • Define strategic commissioning frameworks and corporate-wide standards • Manage enterprise-level commissioning projects and regulatory compliance • Oversee long-term planning and high-value contractual agreements • Act as a key advisor for executive leadership on commissioning and operations strategy • Drive innovation and process optimization across multiple project sites Requirements – education & experience • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • 15+ years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers Required skills • Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning
