Company introduction We are a leading energy company seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our Crude Scheduling and Accounting team. Role summary / purpose The Crude Scheduling Analyst II is a true analyst role responsible for monitoring and verifying the accuracy of crude trading and supply movements. This position requires running reports, aggregating and analyzing data, and presenting findings to schedulers and management. Attention to detail and critical thinking are essential, as the accuracy of this work directly impacts downstream operations. Key responsibilities • Monitor and verify the accuracy of all transactions related to Crude Trading and Supply movements in accordance with accounting standards in the ERP system. • Run various reports in the ERP System to monitor inventory Builds/Draws and analyze data on a routine basis throughout the month. • Work closely with offshore managed service resources, schedulers and traders to properly reflect positions and trades in accounting records. • Review complicated Discrepancy Error Workbench (DEW) requests from Crude Accounting and Volumetric Accounting that are escalated by the Scheduler and assist with identifying the proper resolution. • Serve as a backup reviewer for Discrepancy Error Workbench (DEW) when a scheduler is out of the office. • In collaboration with the Trade Support group, assist schedulers with troubleshooting when nominations do not result in the intended inventory effect and provide resolution. • Prepare reports and summaries of reconciliation findings for management review. • Track and communicate trends or recurring issues that may impact inventory accuracy and assist in the development of solutions. • Identify opportunities for process improvements in scheduling tactics. • Assist with direct resolution of discrepancies during high intensity periods such as month end close. Requirements – education & experience • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Bachelor's Degree • 3-5 years of experience in a volumetric accounting or inventory analyst role • Crude or NGL experience • Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook) Required skills • Attention to detail and critical thinking • Data analysis and aggregation • Accounting background and knowledge • Excel proficiency including macro creation • ERP system navigation Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Experience running financial and inventory reports in SAP • Experience with SAP and/or RightAngle • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as reading comprehension abilities • Strong organizational skills • Strong problem solving and analytical skills • Ability to prioritize demands from multiple departments • Self-motivated, effective team player • Customer service mentality and willingness to address internal client needs • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment • Openness to exploring AI agents for automation Employment details – type, location, hours Position Type: Contract to Hire Location: Houston, TX Schedule: Hybrid after initial training (4 days onsite, 1 day work from home) Growth & development opportunities This Contract to Hire position offers the opportunity to transition to a full-time employee role.
