Estimator

Role summary / purpose This position develops, quantifies, costs, and provides a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. Employees in this role provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the estimating process. Key responsibilities • Prepare capital cost estimates • Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness • Suggest alternatives when appropriate • Coordinate with other departments to ensure understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources • Remain current with technology and industry evolution to anticipate correct market conditions in capital estimates • Establish, build, and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate checks • Perform other job-related duties as assigned Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • 0 - 5 years of experience in assisting with the development, quantification, and costing of capital expenditure (CapEx) models under supervision Required skills • Capital cost estimating • Design and specification review • Market pricing research • Project estimating methodologies • Construction cost metrics • Estimating software proficiency Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Six Sigma Certification (Yellow Belt or higher) for process optimization
