Position Overview Fill General Assembly GL Work Location & Schedule Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, Detroit, MI Monday–Friday, 1st shift: 5:30 AM to 3:00 PM On-site only; no remote work Position Details • Number of Openings: 4 • Assignment Duration: 52 weeks • Target Start Date: August 7, 2026 (ASAP) • Overtime Estimate: Approximately 5 hours per week; very limited and inconsistent • Travel Requirements: None • Driving Requirement: No Physical Requirements • PIV/PEO • High Feature Chamber • DOT • FFW About the Role This is a standard manufacturing group leader position responsible for general assembly operations. You will manage a team of approximately 40 hourly employees, oversee quality at assigned stations, maintain the build schedule, and ensure paperwork is completed accurately. You will participate in daily meetings, conduct quality checkpoints, and collaborate with body paint and quality departments as needed. The business group builds electric vehicles including the Silverado EV, Sierra EV, and Hummer EV. Required Qualifications • High school diploma (bachelor's degree preferred) • 1–2 years of manufacturing experience • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to maintain accountability and conduct difficult conversations Preferred Qualifications • Leadership or supervisory experience • Quality-focused background or root cause analysis experience • Team building experience Extension Possibility This assignment is likely to be extended beyond the initial 52-week period.
