About this role

Role summary / purpose The PGO (Power Grid Operations) Training and Workforce Program Manager establishes the strategic direction for lighting initiatives and defines training programs to achieve PGO's workforce strategies and operational objectives. This position serves as project manager for various lighting initiatives, providing strategic input for current and future program development. The Program Manager effectively plans, schedules, coordinates, and monitors lighting program activities while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with business needs and objectives. Key responsibilities • Serves as subject matter expert and manager for PGO lighting training programs (initial, continuing, and emergent) • Manages program costs and estimates impacts of changes • Engages business unit leaders to establish strategies and incorporate priorities into applicable programs • Leads the ADDIE process to implement lighting training initiatives • Engages SMEs and leaders to establish strategic direction and lighting training initiatives • Remains abreast of business developments and industry trends that affect lighting initiatives and determines impacts to skills and abilities • Creates innovative solutions to reconcile lighting training discrepancies • Identifies strategic cost improvement opportunities • Communicates to all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing • Informs and directs stakeholders regarding lighting activities • Monitors status and progress of lighting projects and makes necessary adjustments to plans and schedules • Makes recommendations and presentations to management and supports communication and implementation of project deliverables Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's degree or technical degree AND six (6) years minimum related work experience • In lieu of technical degree(s) AND 6 years related work experience, High School/GED AND 10 years related work experience Required skills • Total ownership of outcomes • Assertiveness and independent decision making • Ability to compare alternative courses of action and select the best solution • Oral and written communication and presentation skills to all levels of employees and management • Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate concerns/issues, develop logical conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations • Demonstrated project management skills to develop innovative, creative ideas to address complex training-related problems • Demonstrated group process skills to effectively facilitate group activities • Demonstrated leadership abilities to influence and provide direction to team members and advise management of team performance and project status • Demonstrated change management and influencing skills Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Master's degree • 10 years related work experience in addition to desired degree • Training methodologies • Prior training, delivery, development, and/or project management experience • Communication, curriculum development, training and program management Employment details – type, location, hours • Hybrid position – work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period • Hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility • 3 days in office per week; must live within commutable distance from…
