Role summary / purpose This position develops, quantifies, costs, and provides a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. Employees in this role provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the estimating process. Key responsibilities • Prepare capital cost estimates • Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness • Suggest alternatives when appropriate • Coordinate with other departments to ensure understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources • Remain current with technology and industry evolution to anticipate correct market conditions in capital estimates • Establish, build, and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate checks • Perform other job-related duties as assigned Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • 6 - 10 years of experience in capital cost estimates and independently supporting cost evaluations, integrating staffing considerations into estimates Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Engineering • Six Sigma Certification (Yellow Belt or higher) for process optimization • Expertise in CapEx modeling, construction estimate validation, and cost-efficiency metrics • Market pricing research capabilities
