About this role

Role summary / purpose Responsible for assisting in tasks related to activities involving negotiations, contract documents, and other legal/regulatory proceedings with regard to the wholesale power and natural gas business and related commercial transactions. This position leads strategic contract planning, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and provides expert oversight on contract execution and amendments. Key responsibilities • Review contractual agreements or proposed amendments for conformity to company policies or recommendations • Generate outgoing contracts, amendments, and confirmations to trading partners • Maintain accurate records, coordinate and track incoming and outgoing documents, and manage contract/counterparty database • Assist with Proforma development, including assumption validation and reporting as needed • Act as a subject matter expert in contract risk assessment, financial obligations, and corporate contract governance • Provide leadership and oversight on maintenance execution, ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards are met • Interact with maintenance specialists, technicians, engineers, and contractors involved in power plant overhauls and maintenance • Work closely with other Specialists, Supervisors, and Contract Coordinators to develop and implement complex plans for work scope execution Requirements – education & experience • Paralegal designation or other relevant college degree required • 10+ years of experience in contract negotiations, legal compliance, and financial risk management • Power plant experience or utility construction experience Required skills • Expert-level knowledge in contract law, compliance frameworks, and financial risk mitigation • Technical knowledge of power plant equipment and skilled in understanding and resolving technical issues • Ability to apply rigor, discipline, and focus in following standardized processes and procedures • Lean and quality improvement mindset
