Role summary / purpose We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend-focused engineering team. You'll work on distributed systems that support solar energy operations, integrating with cloud services, building reliable APIs, and contributing to a modern CI/CD-driven development culture. Key responsibilities • Design and build RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI • Work with AWS services including RDS, SQS, and S3 • Contribute to and maintain infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, and Argo • Collaborate closely with product and cross-functional engineering teams on technical design and delivery • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and team rituals Requirements – education & experience • 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong Python skills • Hands-on experience with FastAPI or a comparable async Python framework • Comfort working in a containerized, cloud-native environment (AWS, Kubernetes) • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a distributed team Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Experience with React or other frontend frameworks
