Role summary / purpose This is an expert-level Project Controls Scheduler position. Workers at this level lead the development of reporting systems for project controls assignments. They perform complex aspects of individual scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level. They train and teach other members of the Project Controls organization with minimal oversight and wide latitude for unreviewed work. This position is typically assigned to high-complexity projects ranging from $100M to greater than $500M. The Principal Project Controls Specialist must have experience leading schedule review meetings and working with project teams to obtain information to build and update project schedules. Key responsibilities • Lead development of reporting systems for project controls assignments • Perform complex scheduling, change documentation, and cost control activities • Report up to program or portfolio level • Train and mentor other Project Controls organization members • Lead schedule review meetings • Work with project teams to build and update project schedules • Interact with individuals of varying levels across multiple organizations and external suppliers/vendors Requirements – education & experience • Graduation from a four-year college or university in business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent field • Minimum of 7 years of project controls scheduling experience using Primavera (P6) • Alternatively, minimum of 11 years of project controls scheduling experience using Primavera (P6) in lieu of a degree • Expert-level knowledge of project controls principles Required skills • Advanced proficiency with Primavera (P6) • Expertise in project management and project controls concepts • Strong analytical and computer application skills • Employee development capabilities • Collaborative team member with strong oversight abilities • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Master's degree in business, finance, project management, or equivalent • PMI or AACE certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP, or equivalent) • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Powerplant, Maximo, PeopleSoft, and risk management tools Employment details – type, location, hours Full-time, hybrid position with 3 days per week in office.
