Role summary / purpose We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will build cloud-native applications that support customer insights and energy analysis, as well as other business initiatives. In this role, there is opportunity to utilize modern technologies, contribute to platform transformations, and collaborate with stakeholders. The role is ideal for engineers who are comfortable owning features from conception through deployment and production support. Key responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, reusable applications using Java, PostgreSQL and cloud technologies. • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to testing and release, through Agile sprint execution. • Develop low-latency, high performance and highly available applications to support business functions. • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems; optimize application performance and scalability. • Work with product owner, operations, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to deliver technical solutions. Requirements – education & experience • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred. • 7+ years of professional software development experience delivering enterprise-applications and technology solutions is highly desired. • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS or similar cloud platforms. Required skills • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and ORM tools like Hibernate. • Experience with designing RESTful APIs, API architectures and API management platforms. • Proficiency in relational databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server, and familiarity with NoSQL solutions. • Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD automation, containerization, and Git version control. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on schedule in an Agile environment. • Strong problem-solving mindset with an ownership mentality; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
