Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer

Role summary / purpose Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer Key responsibilities • Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicle using design guidelines. • Support vehicle build events at customer site. • Incorporate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidelines into the design. • Support cost reduction initiatives. • Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes. • Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track cost. • Review warranty claims to identify design improvements. Requirements – education & experience • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred). • Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry. Required skills • Logical thinking to solve design issues. • Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites and customer sites. • Good communication skills. • Open-minded personality to deal with a dynamic customer environment. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Automotive industry experience.
