Role summary / purpose Analyzes company functions, processes, and activities to improve computer-based business applications for the most effective use of money, materials, equipment, and people. Utilizes available computer systems resources and personnel to carry out analysis to support management's quest for performance improvement. Key responsibilities • Verify all Equipment Change Requests (ECRs) have been submitted and consult with Engineering to ensure accuracy • Assure engineering has submitted GIS Update Request to GIS (Graphical Information Systems) team • Confirm Asset Automation has been run in Maximo, including Hierarchy check and All Asset Data Complete verification • Verify Work Order (WO) tasks have been completed and closed; contact work order owners if needed • Confirm Facilities Ratings Database has been updated • Work with ARC Analyst to resolve ARC failures • Work with engineering on redlines and As-built completion • Follow up with Permitting to ensure all permits are closed out • Work to resolve double poles that have not been pulled (SPANS) with third party vendors • Provide team member updates on closeout activity until project is closed • Complete all CCFs monthly until project is closed • Adjust and manage forecast until project is closed • Follow up via email to complete all required tasks • Prepare monthly reporting as required Typical functions Reviews and analyzes information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures. Determines most useful business solutions for the company. Recommends alternative solutions to management regarding courses of action that best meet organizational goals. Performs duties concerned with the design and improvement of computer-based business systems. Works closely with senior managers to identify and solve a variety of computer-based business system problems. Analyzes requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or improve existing business systems. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures and identify problems. Selects the most appropriate analytical technique, utilizing study techniques including simulation, linear and nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, queuing and other stochastic-process models, Markov decision processes, econometric methods, data envelopment analysis, neural networks, expert systems, decision analysis, and the analytic hierarchy process. Writes descriptions of business needs, business program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer-based business systems. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system. Studies existing computer-based business systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required. Requirements – education & experience 10+ years of experience in business systems analysis and computer-based application improvement.
