About this role

Role summary / purpose Responsible for coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on the project. Manage walk downs of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approve contractor payment requests, verify constructability, ensure proper resource allocations, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed. Key responsibilities • Lead commissioning projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to implement commissioning plans • Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance • Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines • Resolve operational issues that arise during the commissioning phase • Manage scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, schedules, and work in progress • Ensure Construction Supervisors are effectively implementing their assignments and obtaining desired results • Provide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce • Communicate departmental, station, and division goals and validate each performer's ability to impact those goals • Act as a critical bridge between field operations and customer leadership • Ensure construction crews and project stakeholders remain aligned • Address logistical challenges and resolve conflicts • Survey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices; provide coaching, direction, and corrective action as needed Requirements – education & experience • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • 6 - 10 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers Required skills • Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning
