Role summary / purpose A Planner supports the work management process by performing required activities such as developing schedules and plans that facilitate barrier-free work execution, supporting daily/weekly operation/maintenance activities, providing necessary resources for sites, and facilitating process improvements to make work plans safer, more productive, and cost competitive. The Planner I performs core work management activities including developing weekly schedules, creating job plans, determining proper accounting for work orders, creating purchase requests, managing repair processes, and completing single/sole source justification requests as needed. Key responsibilities • Ensure Purchase Orders are issued for all field work in progress or planned • Ensure all Preventative Maintenance (PM) work is scheduled and completed on time • Follow up and backlog management of all PMs and Corrective Maintenance (CM) work by priority and site • Resource alignment and coordination of work tasks to minimize contractor mobilization charges and re-work • Process monthly accruals in accordance with Finance requirements • Develop and distribute weekly schedules for site activities • Support Project Teams in developing and completing PMs/CMs assigned to those teams • Lead Bid events for minor or large Purchase Orders and service agreements as applicable • Demonstrate basic understanding of system accounting and reporting to support Rate Case inquiries and data requests • Lead and provide oversight to contractors performing work on assets at Midwest locations as directed • Coordinate and communicate during preparation and execution phases of work • Monitor and track progress of activities, prepare reports, and ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated • Direct, coordinate, and review activities of internal staff or contractors to ensure safe, accurate, and timely completion of tasks • Ensure work priorities are established and adhered to for Maintenance functions and activities • Provide Work Management, Sourcing, and business reporting in compliance with procedures • Provide leadership and coordination for work activities performed by supplemental and variable contract resources • Develop plans that facilitate work execution and are barrier-free • Communicate regularly with Supervisors and Equipment Experts to ensure job plans are current and work is prioritized appropriately Requirements – education & experience • Basic knowledge of power plant operation and the Work Management process • Working knowledge of company computer systems and programs utilized in the Work Management process • Basic scheduling tool knowledge • Demonstrated effective time management skills • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills • Ability to perform independently with minimal direction • Interpersonal skills to effectively work with all business unit and company groups • Basic ability to lead effective and efficient meetings • Good written and oral communication skills Required skills • Time management • Problem solving • Independent work capability • Interpersonal communication • Meeting facilitation • Written and oral communication Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Experience and demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) • Experience with work management systems (Maximo) • Experience with Power BI • Written and oral communication s…
