About this role

Role summary / purpose Provides technical and budget/financial support for energy projects, including reviewing contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications. Responsible for contractor monitoring and oversight of assigned work, with primary focus on route development, refinement, and field verification to support pre-construction preparation. Key responsibilities • Review contract documents for technical aspects and plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications • Monitor and oversee contractor work on assigned projects • Develop and refine routes for energy projects, applying functional understanding of routing criteria across cost, engineering, and environmental constraints • Conduct field visits to verify routing and support pre-construction preparation • Perform route refinement using value engineering and other applicable concepts to optimize criteria for late-stage activities including permitting • Identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts • Communicate and discuss risks with Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land teams • Problem-solve within highly regulated permitting requirements • Travel within the US approximately 25% Requirements – education & experience • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • 6 - 10 years of experience supporting technical and financial aspects of construction projects, including contractor oversight Required skills • Excellent communication skills • Experience performing routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty • Ability to identify and evaluate routing risks • Problem-solving skills within regulated permitting environments • Detail-oriented with ability to maintain sight of larger vision Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Experience with geospatial applications such as Google Earth and/or GIS
