About this role
Company introduction Powertrain Engineering is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to fulfill the role as Calibration System Integration Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and release of propulsion system calibrations. This role serves as a key link between calibration teams and cross-functional engineering organizations, ensuring optimal system-level performance across engine, transmission, driveline, and electrified propulsion systems. Role summary / purpose The Calibration System Integration Engineer is responsible for the system calibration tradeoffs between each powertrain subsystem to meet functional objectives of performance, emissions, fuel economy, OBD regulatory compliance, system safety, and driveability. The engineer will lead a cross-functional team dedicated to creating the most optimized calibration for the defined propulsion system consisting of engine, transmission, driveline, and electrification. This position requires significant vehicle testing, data collection, issue management, and coordination among calibration, vehicle, quality, and engineering teams. Key responsibilities • Retain lead calibrator responsibility for one or more calibration areas (Transmission, Torque Control, Engine D&E, ePT E&D, OBD, or Torque Security) • Own overall responsibility for ensuring vehicle calibrations from all areas meet requirements for performance, emissions, fuel economy, OBD regulatory compliance, torque security, and driveability • Lead system-level calibration integration activities across engine, transmission, driveline, and electrified propulsion systems • Support the successful release of calibrations for development builds, production programs, and field updates • Conduct and support vehicle testing, calibration validation, and data collection activities • Lead and participate in test trips involving multiple calibration teams • Establish and maintain common INCA experiments and vehicle data collection strategies • Analyze test data and support issue resolution, validation, and calibration improvements • Support vehicle retrofit activities and coordinate required modifications with technicians and garages • Work closely with Aerothermal, Quality, Vehicle Teams, and other engineering groups to coordinate activities and resolve issues • Promote collaboration, vehicle sharing, and resource utilization across calibration teams • Coordinate issue tracking, follow-up actions, and status reporting using internal systems and processes • Chair recurring calibration build and program review meetings • Represent propulsion calibration activities during management reviews, vehicle evaluations, and ride-and-drive events • Manage and coordinate engineering resources required for calibration development, including simulation, bench testing, engine dynos, powertrain dynos, and vehicle testing • Partner with project coordination teams to plan, track, and execute calibration release activities • Coordinate and verify calibration releases across all modules within the propulsion system • Monitor project risks, communicate technical decisions, and escalate critical issues to leadership when required • Support complex and dynamic vehicle development programs while maintaining program timing and quality objectives Requirements – education & experience • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from a…
