About this role

Service Type: On-Site Position Summary: Group Leader to manage hourly production employees in a high-paced manufacturing environment. The main function of this role is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers. Specific Responsibilities: • Manage the safety of employees and provide leadership in the production area • Ensure quality of product in the area • Monitor rate and downtime; solve production problems • Reduce scrap and overtime costs in the area • Engage in high-level problem solving across operations • Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records Work Site: Manufacturing plant and plant floor Work Schedule: 1st Shift, 4x10 hour schedule, Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–4:30 PM. Friday overtime is often expected. Physical Requirements: Full facility work Required Skills: • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and manage one's time • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Education and Experience: • High school diploma or GED required • Associate's degree in business or related field preferred • Minimum of 4 years of experience required
