About this role

Role summary / purpose Project Controls Specialist II (PCS-II) is responsible for initiating and completing routine aspects of project control assignments including complex aspects of estimating, scheduling, change analysis and cost control. The PCS-II is an essential member of a project team, supporting 1 to 2 project managers on varying ranked projects. The position requires advanced acumen in project controls principles and proficient use of project controls software tools. Key responsibilities • Generate periodic project controls analytics by creating project analysis of gathered data through verification and validation to support project controls metrics. Distribute and archive project controls analysis as appropriate. • Perform change control by tracking, trending, and initiating action for changes to project scope, schedule, and cost. Analyze change requests, gain approval, and distribute change requests in compliance with internal governance, standards, and procedures. • Lead assigned benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives relevant to project controls functions. Summarize and communicate improvement opportunities and formulate adoption of company and industry best practices. • Provide expertise in project controls methodologies by aiding Project Managers in Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) development, project schedules, cost estimates, cash flow reports, and change control documentation. Track and report project status, perform variance, earned value and critical path analyses. • Create and maintain project estimates by working with Estimators to establish effective cost controls management. Ensure estimates include all necessary raw materials, resource/labor rates, manufactured materials/equipment, and current industry data. • Maintain effective relationships with customers, support resolution of quality issues, and display proficiency in conflict resolution and reaching win-win outcomes among team members. Requirements – education & experience • Level 1 or Level 2 experience • Strong grasp of project controls and scheduling principles • At least a couple years of P6 experience • True project controls background preferred Required skills • P6 • Excel Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Maximo • PowerPlan • SAP • EcoSys Employment details – type, location, hours Full-time, hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in office. Located in Raleigh, NC. Local candidates preferred.
