About this role

Role summary / purpose The Senior Project Controls Specialist is responsible for initiating and completing routine aspects of project control assignments including complex aspects of estimating, scheduling, change analysis and cost control. The SrPC is an essential member of a project team, supporting project managers on varying ranked projects in accordance with Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) assignment criteria. The position requires advanced acumen in project controls principles, proficient use of project controls software tools, and a higher level of cognitive comprehension and application. Key responsibilities • Generate Periodic Project Controls Analytics. Create periodic project analysis of gathered data through verification and validation to support project controls metrics. Responsible for distributing and archiving project controls analysis as appropriate. • Perform Change Control. Track, trend, and initiate action for changes to the project scope, schedule, and cost. Analyze change requests, gain approval, and distribute change requests in a manner compliant with internal governance, standards, and procedures. • Project Controls Benchmarking and Self-Assessment Initiatives. Lead assigned benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives relevant to project controls functions. Summarize and communicate improvement opportunities, formulate adoption of company and industry best practices, and incorporate actions to address gaps in performance. • Expertise in Project Controls Methodologies. Aid Project Managers in Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) development, project schedules, cost estimates, cash flow reports, and change control documentation. Track and report project status, perform variance, earned value and critical path analyses at a level appropriate for the project. • Create and Maintain Project Estimate. Work with Estimators to create project cost estimates to establish effective cost controls management. Ensure that project estimates include all necessary raw materials, resource/labor rates, manufactured materials/equipment as well as current industry data relative to project scope. • Effective Team Participation. Maintain effective relationships with customers, support the resolution of quality issues and complete assignments as negotiated. Display proficiency in conflict resolution and reaching win-win outcomes among team members. Requirements – education & experience 3-5 years of experience in project controls. Extensive and diverse work experience, or less experience coupled with higher levels of formal education.
