QA Construction Specialist

Role summary / purpose Provides technical and financial support for energy projects, including reviewing contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications. Responsible for contractor monitoring and oversight of assigned work. Primary responsibility includes route development, refinement, and field visits to support overall pre-construction preparation. Key responsibilities • Review contract documents and plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications for technical aspects • Monitor and oversee contractor work on assigned projects • Develop and refine routes for energy projects using value engineering and optimization concepts • Conduct field visits to verify conditions and support pre-construction preparation • Apply functional understanding of routing criteria across cost, engineering, and environmental constraints • Identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts • Communicate and discuss risks with Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land teams • Support late-stage activities including permitting prior to construction • Travel within the US approximately 25% Requirements – education & experience • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • 6 - 10 years of experience supporting technical and financial aspects of construction projects • Experience with contractor oversight Required skills • Excellent communication skills • Experience performing routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty • Ability to identify and evaluate routing risks • Problem-solving within highly regulated permitting requirements • Detail-oriented with ability to maintain sight of larger vision Nice-to-have / preferred skills • Experience with geospatial applications such as Google Earth and/or GIS
